My Life: Executing the vision behind the scenes

Within the last two weeks I've had the pleasure of styling actress Tatyana Ali and actor Brian White along with his wife, Paula. Both shoots went exactly as planned while also taking on a life of their own (if that makes sense :) Tatyana Ali is as gorgeous as she's ever been. I styled her in an array (8 to be exact) of dresses showcasing all of her different sides. From short and chic to long and ethereal to playful and funky, each look uniquely complemented Tatyana's amazing personality.
I also styled actor Brian White and his wife, Paula, for a sexy, powerful spread for Obvious Magazine. The duo showcased looks separately and together that said "Make room for the Whites because they're destined to take over". Both were such a pleasure to work with.

So great to work with good people :)

For The Kids: Daniel Palillo's Fall 2011 Children's Line!

I'm a fan of Mexico designer Daniel Palillo. I'm also a lover of little persons, especially those with great style. I REALLY enjoy styling kids fashion editorials so this first kids collection from Daniel hits a soft spot for me. When I received this lookbook it immediately changed my mood.

How much do you love these little looks???!

READ IT: My interview with designer Karishma Shahani for The Corporate Goddess

I am pleased to announce that I have joined new magazine, The Corporate Goddess, as Fashion editor. TCG, founded by life coach and visionaire Tiffany Crawford, is a hub for women of all backgrounds to relate to one another on various levels. It is a digital lifestyle magazine focusing on the issue, interests, and inspirations that relate to all of us coporate goddesses.

This month, women's history month, I had the honor of featuring London designer Karishma Shahani.

View our interview at http://www.thecorporategoddess.com/ and see a sneak peek below.....

CY: I'm so happy to feature you in our History Forward issue here at The Corporate Goddess. Who better to chat with than a visionary designer like yourself who stepped far beyond the boundaries of design, color, and shape to create a breath-taking graduate collection? For those not familiar with your work can you break down your inspiration(s) for us?

KS: My recent graduate collection transcends the seasonal divide associated with Fashion. Currently retailed for the Spring Summer ‘11 season, its inspiration is India: The land of dreams and romance, of fabulous wealth and stark scarcity, of splendour and rags, of palaces and hovels, of famine and pestilence, of genie and giants, tigers and elephants, the city, the jungle, of a thousand religions and two million Gods, the birthplace of human speech, the epitome of legends and traditions and most importantly my home.........

Karishma and I connected last year and I continue to be inspired by her work. I'll be sure to share her new collection once it's revealed :)
