DESIGN: Congrats to Charles Albert Lookbook!!!

I recently fell in love with the hand crafted, artistic, over-the-top jewelry designs of Charles Albert Lookbook.

Just got word from their PR that they've been featured in Allure Magazine's March '10 issue . Fashion Editor Siobhan Bonnouvrier has hand-picked several Charles Albert Lookbook pieces as part of her fave statement jewelry for Spring 2010.

I will be draping the lovely Ms. Stacey Dash for an um-coming editorial shoot in a piece or two from the collection as well!!

Congratulations!

DESIGN: I L O V E LaQuan Smith!!!!!

Designer/Stylist LaQuan Smith's FW 2010 is amazing! Hard to believe he's only 21 years old and this is only his second collection! What they say is true. Age is nothing but a number and I believe we haven't seen anything yet. Smith has such a long future ahead.

LIFE: Behind the Scenes: ballet-inspired Editorial shoot

Last week I had the pleasure of styling an ethereal yet playful ballet-inspired editorial spread using Spring/Summer collections from designers including Katy Rodriguez, Isabel Lu, and Rami Kashou.
I had an amazing time working with photographer Tamar Levine and some of LA's greatest make-up, hair, and set designers; an all female team!

Here are some behind the scenes photos. Can't wait to see the finished published product!

R.I.P. ALEXANDER McQUEEN

There are many reports swarming around about the death of Alexander McQueen. All I can say is this is a true loss for fashion and design and the world as a whole.

I keep his family, friends, and fans in my prayers.

LIFE: FELA on Broadway!! Amazing news!!

In case you haven't heard, FELA on Broadway hit the stage November 29, 2009 and has caused a HUGE stir in the broadway arena.

The play, produced by the likes of Jay-Z and Jada Pinkett Smith, is based on the life and musical influence of Nigerian legend Fela Kuti. It has received rave reviews from the likes of the New York Times and USA Today.

Here's the good news... Next month I will be in New York to style the play's two main characters, Sahr Ngaujah (Fela Kuti) and Lillias White ( Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti) for an exclusive editorial and interview for AfroStyle Magazine!!!! Fela Kuti's music has personally impacted my life in a positive way so this is a huge honor. Can't wait to share!

LIFE: Editorial in AfroStyle Magazine

AfroStyle Magazine is a publication created by Nigerian-born talent Amaka Nkele. I was drawn to being a part of the magazine due to it's mission and purpose including work with non-profits in the African Continent. Since it's inception, AfroStyle has grown tremendously and draws thousands of followers all over the world.

With the AfroModa spread we wanted to share ways to infuse a bit of West African influence into your wardrobe with the use of patterns, colors, and silhouettes.
