DESIGN: Julian Louie, Take me into Spring

I'm over the winter here in LA. Today I was in a Spring-y Peachy mood so that's what I wore. Peach smock neck blouse, Light Peach raw silk blazer, chunky copper necklace, with everyday jeans and Silver brogues. Who better to post than designer Julian Louie and her sherbert-hued Spring 2010 collection? The Spring collections are hitting stores rapidly and I can't wait to get my hands on them!

DESIGN: Christoph Lemaire- A mix of FW 10 and SS 10

In case you were not aware, Los Angeles is in the midst of a severe storm with heavy down-pour. Whoever said it never rains in Southern California was definitely wrong.

In weather like this I really just want to stay inside. But since a girl's got to keep pushing I might as well do it in style. I think this look which includes a mix of Christophe Lemaire Fall/Winter 10 AND Spring/Summer 10 along with other Winter accessories would be perfect to face the day.

MUSIC: Sade's Soldier of Love Video! She is forever a legend

You know you're on Sade's level when A: You release an album after 8 years without missing a beat and B: You have a resistance to aging. She is a legend in more ways than one. I've been listening to her since I was in elementary school. That's 20 years of enjoying her music. She's still kept her signature style, which is timeless, and her voice gets better with time.

STYLE: Vintage Japanese Haori kimonos

There's something special about Japanese Haori kimonos. Is it the way they feel when draped on the body? Or the regal silhouette they pose when worn or on the hanger? Whatever it is, there's nothing that makes me feel more royal. I have a collection of vintage Haoris that I am pretty proud of... Well I have about 6 or 7 of them. But I'm a sucker for them and will collect them for years to come.

STYLE + EDITORIAL: Perfect Alexandra Cassaniti Summer Accessories and Russh Mag's Surf Chic

I've been a fan of designer Alexandra Cassaniti's Summer collections since she bagan in 2008. She is the sole inspiration for my obsession with scuba/surf gear for Summer 2010. Below are some of my favorite pieces from her latest accessories collection.

"Face It" Sunglasses. The shape stands out beautifully on the face and the mirrored X's on each lens are perfect for days when you feel like being shielded.

These "Compost" (left) and "Crude Oil" (right) vial necklaces are a Collaboration between Alexandra Cassaniti and Unearthen. They're cast metal and blown glass and the stopper has an image that denotes the Crop Circle formation of the Mystic Triangle. "Known to harmoniously align the Physical, Astral and Spiritual planes...inside the mouth blown glass vial is the personalized Natural Element that can protect you on your Earthly Journey". What more do you need out of a necklace!!??

It seems I'm not the only one dreaming of summer time surfing (whether you can surf or not). The Jan/Feb issue of RUSSH Magazine dedicated many pages to Summer time neoprene fun. I really cannot wait to mix surf/scuba-inspired pieces with rolled baggie khakis, platform sandals, headwraps, and huge earrings. It seems like the perfect warm weather travel ensemble.
